Framework for understanding ERP development ecosystems: business and technology perspectives

Strategic alignment between business and IT is considered critical for competitiveness. Enterprise system and business process reengineering projects are inter-related and have a major impact on strategic alignment. ERP systems are developed in multiple stakeholder ecosystems. Current literature does not provide sufficient support for this. The aim of this paper is to identify business and technology perspectives’ stakeholders. As a result, a combined framework of ERP development ecosystem stakeholders is created. The combined framework increases complexity and the number of stakeholders. Nevertheless, it offers a holistic view. Our framework offers implications for both literature and empirical research and also for IS practice.
